Advice and Frequently Asked Questions
□ How can I protect my art work?
At The Framers Gallery we specialise in conservation custom framing. Offering
a wide range of conservation materials, your piece will be conservationally framed
to ensure it is kept in the best possible condition over time. Conservational materials
include acid free matts and backing, chemically neutral they help to keep your artwork,
especially paper items, from deterioration, and where deemed appropriate UV glass
prevents most ultraviolet light from reaching your artwork reducing fading. We recommend
conservation custom framing for all original artwork, limited editions, antiques,
and other investment or sentimental pieces.
□ My picture is damaged. Is there anything I can do?
For rips and minor tears we can ‘Vacuum Mount’ your piece onto
a stiff backing board. This process will help to straighten out crinkles, paper
buckles and rips. However, it is not a conservational method of framing and is not
recommended for original or valuable pieces.
For other damage such as water damage, scratches, fading, foxing and ageing bring
your piece into the gallery for a free obligation free quote on restoring your work.
